Cookie Policy

What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as browser storage, are covered by this policy too.
Our approach
Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are only set if you allow them in the cookie banner. Until you choose, Google tags run in “consent denied” mode and set no analytics or advertising cookies.
We also run our own cookieless visit counter. It stores nothing on your device, does not track you across other sites, and runs whatever you choose in the banner.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session (next-auth) | Essential | Keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. | Session to 30 days |
| mca_cookie_consent (stored in your browser) | Essential | Remembers your cookie choices. | Until you clear it |
| _ga, _ga_* | Analytics (consent) | Google Analytics: how visitors use the site. | Up to 2 years |
| _gcl_*, Google Ads cookies | Advertising (consent) | Google Ads: whether our adverts lead to enquiries. | Up to 90 days |
| Theme and layout settings | Preferences (consent) | Remembers settings such as dark mode. | Up to 1 year |
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser; the cookie banner will then appear again. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in working.
