What drives the price
- Remote or on-site: on-site visits include travel and a full day on location
- Length: a one-day visit costs less than a multi-day review
- Size and type of service: larger or more complex services take longer
- Report depth: a scored report and action plan takes more work than verbal feedback
- Follow-up: some prices include a follow-up call or re-check, others do not
Remote or on-site?
A remote mock is good value for checking evidence, policies and records across all five key questions. An on-site mock adds staff interviews, observation of care and a look at the environment, which is closer to a real CQC site visit.
What to check before you book
- Is the price fixed, and is travel included?
- Who carries it out, and what is their care and inspection experience?
- Does it cover all five key questions and the current quality statements?
- Will you get a written report, a rating per key question and an action plan?
- How quickly will you get the report?
